Ectipi

"Libro d'artista", luglio 2005 nel Castello di Piagnaro di Pontremoli

L’opera, si compone di tre rotoli (volumen) di tela avvolti su dei supporti di legno (umbilicus), 280 x 20 cm ciascuno, sui quali sono impressi con i metalli rame, bronzo e ferro, i motivi geometrici degli imballi di polistirolo. Impronte fatte di metalli ossidate in diverse colorazioni.

Ectypes

Pontremoli at the Castello del Piagnaro in the Museo delle Stele (Stela museum) as part of the events associated with the Premio Bancarella literary prize, the artist shows his installation “Ectipi” (“Ectypes”)  at the “libro d’artista” (“artist’s book”) exhibition.

The works presented are “ectypes” or copies: models derived from something else whose origin has been cancelled and forgotten. The installation, made up of rolls of canvas wound around wooden supports upon which imprints of geometric shapes characteristic of polystyrene packaging, a symbol of the consumer wastage of our era, have been realised using copper, bronze, brass, aluminium and iron metals which have then been oxidised.
